Bryant’s Story

The Creative Environment Matters

"I made a house call for a friend whose mom was sick and dying. When I was done, she felt beautiful for the first time in months. I was able to make her feel good in her last days. As a barber, I have the power to change how someone feels for the better."

I started as a barber when I was 14 years old. I moved from my hometown of New York City to Miami, and started working at a salon owned by wonderful people. But, I couldn't take off. I was stagnant and made no money for three years. I doubted my skills. I thought I wasn't good enough to be successful, until a good friend told me "just because a fish can't climb a tree, it doesn't mean it's not the best swimmer in the world."
